Climbing Thailand - Introduction

A great combination especially if you take all in Thailand. Because a lot of runs, in a truly exotic place, Thailand is not to lose a reputation as a climbing destination. The exchange rate is with many of the major currencies and the cost of living, cheap prices compared to Western prices.

Locations

There are two main climbing areas. One is located in the northwest, just outside the city of Chang Mai, the second largest city of Thailand. VisitClimbing the local shops to learn how to start and where I am. The area has over 100 climbing with a good portion of them with simple types (for Thailand). No beaches here, but the weather is cooler during high season (November to April), as further south.

The second largest is on Railay Beach. Located in southern Thailand, near Krabi town, it enjoys a superb position on the Andaman Sea. The area has an East and West Railay beach more Tonsai beach. Accessible only by boat, is20 minutes by longtail boat from Krabi Town to East Railay. Au Nong, is about 10 minutes to Railay West and Tonsai.

No traffic and a sensitivity to distance makes the scene a bit 'low-key. I can not find one of the "cheese" that some other hotspots in Thailand are famous.

Climbing

Climbing varies from just off the beach, fantastic, fully bolted multi-pitch climb vines in the jungle. There are a variety of guides available and it would be prudentat least one of these laws, get on the slopes and fixed gears. The environment here is hard on the metal, so you know which screws to the best clip is very good for your health.

There are many shops around climbing and hire a guide for a half day or a week or more. It may be better to see for some time to walk around the rocks to the guides in action. They are easy to spot as they usually do the yelling directions. Some are quieter than others. Choose oneIt fits your style. Gear is usually included when you hire a guide, but is also available to rent for those traveling light.

West Railay (sunset side), the exclusive, including some really great houses for rentRailay East Railay Beach Club is middle-of-the-road, where you get too much mid-range accommodation. Tonsai is popular with the budget backpacker, with super cheap bamboo huts on the hill. You can walk around any beach. Tonsai is the most, about 20 minutes walk from East Railay.
